Product detailed description

The new ULTRA digital servos with AC motors offer several revolutionary innovations. The use of a top-of-the-line Neu/Castle Creations AC motor with high efficiency not only reduces current consumption compared to digital servos with DC motors - thanks to the unique Hitec "Power Miser" technology, the current consumption is significantly lower even compared to servos with AC motors from competing manufacturers. A prime example of current consumption when the servo is completely blocked - the consumption of Hitec AC servos is approximately one fifth of the consumption of conventional AC servos and even only one tenth of the consumption of digital servos with DC motors. Another innovation is the use of electronics with a 12-bit control processor, which allows for unusually precise and fast control of servo movement with extremely high resolution - it is possible to fully utilize the 4096 step resolution offered by new computer RC kits. Another nice feature is that the servo thrust does not depend (within the operating voltage range) on the servo supply voltage - whether the servo is powered by a 5-cell NiMH or a 2-cell LiPol, the servo will have the same thrust (the speed will be higher at a higher voltage).

Another advantage of Hitec AC servos is regenerative braking - when stopping the movement, the servos do not consume electrical energy, but can return it to the receiver battery.

The servo electronics are programmable, for programming use the PC interface DPC-10 or DPC-11 together with a comfortable operating program on the PC, or a separate programmer HFP-30 ideal for setting in field conditions.

Programmable functions:

  • FAIL SAFE On/Off
  • Direction
  • Speed
  • Center, end points of deflections and fail-safe emergency position (allows servo deflection up to 180°)
  • Deadline width
  • Soft start (protects servo and rudder control mechanism when turning on the onboard electronics)
  • Saving and opening parameter files
  • Resetting servo to factory settings

Connecting Hitec AC servos

Regenerative braking may bring some peculiarities when installing servos:

The servo is powered directly from the receiver battery (via a receiver without a power stabilizer or electronic backup system) - in this case, the AC servos can be connected as regular powerful digital servos, the reverse current during braking will recharge the receiver battery.
The servo is powered via the "powerbox" of the electronic power supply/backup system - in this case, it is NECESSARY to use the PAD Reverse Current Absorber, which will eliminate the reverse current during braking. If you do not use the PAD absorber, there is a risk of damage to the electronics of the power supply system. Details on using the PAD absorber are in the servo operating instructions.

HSB-9381TH

Super strong digital servo in an all-metal box with a standard size AC motor with titanium gears and an output shaft mounted in 2 ball bearings with increased supply voltage. The gear axes are mounted in sliding bronze bushings to ensure long service life and precise operation. The servo is particularly suitable for large helicopters and giant aircraft and other demanding applications with an emphasis on high thrust, high resolution and accuracy of operation, super fast response of the control electronics and high long-term durability. The powerful AC motor with low current consumption guarantees optimal operating conditions even under heavy loads. The servo output shaft with a 25-tooth milled spline (... allows for more precise adjustment of the lever perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the servo) and new servo levers (not compatible with current Hitec servos).

Thanks to the increased supply voltage (up to 7.4 V, 2s Li-pol/Li-Fe), it allows for very simple implementation of on-board electronics with 2.4GHz receivers of the Hitec Maxima or Optima series (or similar) when powered by a dual Li-pol or Li-Fe cell without the need for additional stabilizers or power regulators.
