Tamiya liquid primer can be applied with a brush (especially smaller areas) or with an airbrush. Primer is the first step for any perfect surface treatment. This primer smooths the surface, covers small scratches, holes and cracks, creating a uniform surface without suppressing the fine details of the model. After the primer has dried thoroughly, the surface can be sanded with fine sandpaper (dry, even underwater), or with sanding pastes to achieve a completely perfect base before applying a top coat of paint of various types and brands. This primer is suitable for the following materials: plastic (ABS / PS), metal and wood.

Dilution: Use Tamiya Lacquer Thinner 250ml (87077) for dilution. Using another thinner may damage the paint.

Painting: For painting, it is advisable to leave the paint in a thicker form, dilute only with a small amount of thinner. When painting non-absorbent materials (plastic, metal, glass, ...) it is usually not necessary to prepare the surface with a primer and usually one coat of paint is enough for good coverage. When painting absorbent surfaces (such as wood), it is advisable to use a primer first, or apply the first coat of thicker paint and after thorough drying (at least 24 hours) apply a second thin coat of paint.

Spray painting: For spray painting, the paint is usually diluted in a ratio of 1 part thinner to 1 part paint, but the thinner can be more, depending on the type of airbrush and other spraying parameters.

Cleaning: We recommend the original Tamiya cleaner to clean the brush.
