Kit of fully functional, remote-controlled model of a heavy tow truck and recovery vehicle in a special limited edition, which includes a pre-painted ABS body in a glossy aluminum color (TS-17) treated with a clear varnish for a high-quality finish.

The model features a detailed plastic cab with a metal front grille and detailed cab interior. The front axles of this model feature the first dual steering system to be seen in a Tamiya 1/14 series truck kit. The rear boom and lifting mechanism feature many metal components for excellent durability. For full RC functionality, the lifting mechanism kit (item 56553) must be used. The ladder frame chassis has aluminum side members and plastic cross members. Power from the engine is transmitted to the two rear axles via a cardan shaft. The built-in differential gear on each axle allows smooth cornering even with such a long vehicle. The highly realistic suspension uses metal springs and shock absorbers.

The Tamiya chassis in this kit is characterized by a high model construction. The rear axle/axles are driven via a 3-speed gearbox with cardan shafts and differentials. One of the three speeds (gear ratios) can be selected manually using mechanical stops (or remotely via an RC transmitter and servo shift). This model has a very attractive appearance, excellent performance and driving characteristics.

The model can be built either as a basic model with only speed and direction control, or as a fully illuminated and sound-equipped model using the Tamiya Multifunction-Unit MFC-01 (American tractors) or MFC-03 (European tractors) for trucks. With this MFC, the model takes things to a whole new level, thanks to realistic lighting, a high-quality sound module and remote control of all functions via an RC transmitter.
