Product detailed description
Prusament PLA is Prusa Research's own in-house produced filament. The entire production process is carefully monitored and measured - thanks to this, the manufacturer guarantees a manufacturing deviation of ±0.02mm (±0.03mm for mixtures) and high color stability. You can check all the parameters of each spool it produces at prusament.com (Scan the QR code on the spool and see all the details online)

PLA is the simplest material for 3D printing. It is inexpensive and suitable for both beginners and advanced users. It can be used to print detailed models, figures and rapid prototypes that do not require increased mechanical, chemical or temperature resistance.
PLA is the most widely used filament, known for its great appearance and easy printability. Its low thermal expansion means it will warp minimally during printing, making it an excellent choice for printing large objects. Its low melting point also makes it suitable for small parts.
While PLA is not as tough and durable as some advanced materials, its versatility makes it ideal for a range of applications, including large objects, miniatures, concept models and prototypes that don’t need to be particularly durable.

Tips and tricks for beginners
Unlike PLA or ABS, PETG tends to leak a little and can leave stringing on the print. We recommend drying the filament before printing, as described here. If stringing does occur, you can further counter it by increasing the retraction and tuning the hotend temperature, but if you use our filament presets in the Prusa Slicer, we've already done that for you and the amount of stringing should be minimal. Or you can get rid of the fibers on the finished print with a heat gun.
