Electric motor KAVAN Brushless C2826-1000
Code: KAVAN-KAV30.0208

Product detailed description
KAVAN C motors are powerful brushless fourteen-pole electric motors with a rotating shell ("outrunner") with excellent electrical properties, sophisticated design and excellent manufacturing. They represent a very good choice for driving your recreational and sports models with excellent performance parameters, good efficiency and a favorable price. They are low-speed motors with high torque, handling large diameter propellers and pitch without the need for a gearbox.
Motor designation system: CxxYY-zzzz
C - AC motor with a rotating casing ("outrunner", "circumferential")
xx - motor diameter in mm
YY - motor length in mm
zzzz - number of revolutions per volt (rpm per V), "KV"
KAVAN C2826-1000 is a miniature AC motor designed for driving small models with a flight weight of up to 450 g with power from a two-cell or three-cell Li-Pol battery. With its help, you can successfully "electrify" e.g. large rubber bands from Guillow's or Dumas kits with a span of about 800-1200 mm, it is also excellent for Dumas RC park flyers.
Motor mounting: C2826-1000 is designed for front and rear mounting. For front mounting behind the motor face, use at least two (opposite) or four M3 screws that extend into the motor face by 3 - 4 mm. The pairs of mounting screw holes in the motor face are spaced 180° apart on circles with a diameter of 16 and 19 mm. The motor bulkhead should be made of 2 mm aircraft plywood. The rear mounting kit (mounting cross, rear mounting propeller carrier) is supplied with the motor.
The motor kit includes: C2826-1000 motor with cables with 3.5 mm gold-plated connectors, rear mounting kit, instructions.

The "AC" electric motor commonly referred to by modelers is actually a misnomer, because it does not use alternating current, as we have at home in the 230V network. A more correct designation should be a DC brushless electric motor with electronic commutation. They are often referred to as BL DC motors. (from the English BrushLess - carbon-free...).
A classic DC commutator electric motor is very reliable, but its weakness is the use of commutation, which occurs by sliding contact between the brushes - carbons and the commutator on the rotor. It wears out and with poor maintenance or overloading, the life of the motor is significantly shortened. With electronic commutation, this problem disappears. The design of a brushless electric motor is basically reversed, the rotating parts are replaced. The BL DC motor has a fixed stator winding and rotates an exciter consisting mostly of permanent magnets. It is not enough to simply supply voltage to such an electric motor, a control unit is needed that switches the individual stator windings (replacing the commutator). The information from the feedback is processed by a microprocessor that also controls other activities so that the motor works properly. In model making, such an electric motor is controlled by an electronic speed controller (ESC), in which various values of the necessary functionality of the electric motor can usually be set and programmed (direction of rotation, start-up, brake, etc.)
Electric motors currently use modern magnets that have significantly stronger magnetic properties. So even with a smaller and lighter design, they provide much higher power than classic commutator motors. Most of these motors are also referred to as "Outrunner", in a classic arrangement with a rotating casing. They have found use in RC models of airplanes, helicopters, drones. In car and boat models (but also aircraft models), these motors are used hidden in the outer casing, they look similar to commutator motors, but have three power wires. They are referred to as "Inrunner".
When combining individual "AC" motors with controllers, it is good to maintain a certain compatibility, not every motor works with any controller. It is advisable to follow the manufacturer's recommendations and it is ideal to use the motor and controller of the same brand and model series. This guarantees compatibility and trouble-free operation. Motors are divided mostly according to size and use and have a recommended operating power supply range, which must be combined with the corresponding power-built controller. For beginners, the choice is made easier by the option to buy a set of motor + controller, which are in the ideal combination. These sets are usually referred to as "Combo Set".
The installation of an Outrunner type motor can be of two types. Either classic, when it is mounted on the motor bulkhead behind the stator and the propeller (or other output) is mounted on the shaft in a classic way, or the so-called inverted assembly (also called the necessary parts for mounting the motor), when the motor is mounted in an inverted position and a special carrier is attached to the rotor, on which the propeller (or other output) is mounted. The assembly depends on the model design.
These electric motors currently represent the cutting edge in the field of electric drives and, with their properties, have almost completely replaced classic commutator electric motors in some industries (e.g. aircraft modeling).
