AAA (pencil) NiMH batteries with extremely low self-discharge are ideal for powering transmitters and receivers in RC models and similar applications with lower current consumption, but high endurance required. They are excellent for powering cameras, home remote controls, thermostats and similar devices where you need to insert batteries and "forget".
