The TRF104 is a high-performance Formula racing chassis. It is the successor to the very popular Tamiya TRF103 and is only produced in a limited series. The model is designed for professional drivers and contains many aluminum and carbon composite parts.

The chassis has upgraded front and rear suspension and an upgraded RC equipment layout.

Improved front suspension:
Equipped with plastic upper A-arms.
The camber angle is freely adjustable from +1 to -3 degrees (approximately) using a 2 mm Allen key.
The caster angle of the axle pivot is also adjustable from 6, 9 and 12 degrees (approximately).

RC equipment layout:
The chassis may lose good rear axle grip if it is not balanced. To avoid this problem, the battery, receiver and servo are placed in the longitudinal axis as close to the center of the chassis as possible, thus ensuring better rear axle grip.

Compatible batteries:
The battery bed is adjustable for different sizes, standard, medium and short. The package includes a battery holder for hardcase Li-Po batteries with a square cross-section. It also allows the use of larger batteries according to open-class rules

Motor mount:
The motor mount has parts for adjusting the ground clearance and wheelbase. (5 types of ground clearance are adjustable in steps of 0.8 mm and it is possible to choose two wheelbases with a difference of 2.5 mm).

Power steering and steering linkage
The power steering is moved approximately 30 mm back compared to the TRF103 chassis, which ensures a low center of gravity.
It offers a choice of 4 types of steering linkage adjustment within a length range of approximately 1.8 mm by changing the position of the Ackerman plate to maintain direct steering.

Rear Differential:
The rear ball differential is the same as that used for the TRF103 chassis. The lightweight and durable carbon fiber shaft limits weight and ensures compatibility with rubber tires, which are relatively heavy.

Two rear wing mounting options:
A 2 mm thick carbon fiber plate is used to mount the rear wing. In this case, the rear wing is attached to the engine mount and moves with the rear suspension.
When adding the separately sold item (53596 Aluminum Servo Stays (Short)) to mount the rear wing, the rear wing is attached to the suspension plate and does not move with the rear suspension. (It remains horizontal even when the rear suspension moves.)

Front Suspension Arms:
The 2.5mm thick carbon fiber front lower suspension arms have two mounting positions (3mm each side) to adjust their width and mount wheels with different offsets.
If you use the separately sold item 54153 (F103 Carbon Reinforced Front Suspension Arm) and 53119 (RD Special King Pin Set), the width can be changed to the same width as the TRF 103 chassis (200mm)
